When your want to invite your parents from Mainland China with B-2
visas
This page is my experience of inviting my parents. Lun Li offered great help
during this process. This covers all the necessary steps. For more information,
you can read bbs.mit.edu. A lot of the following information was provided by Lun, Thanks:)
- Write your own invitation letter (See an example)
- Download and complete I-134
form;
- Go to ISP and ask for advice (and ask for an invitation from the ISP;
- Go to Dean of Graduate for an invitation letter from the dean;
- Optionals:
- Go to the bank for a banking certification.
- Photocopy your passport, I-20, Visa and I-94, SSN, Student ID.
- Photocopy your tax forms of last financial year.
- Original Monthly Payment for 3 months.
- Official transcripts.
- Prepare a cover for all the materials (See an example)
Send all the above to your parents.
Ask your parents to take the following steps (GB2312).
